Bushwick Blends Beats, Art and Street Culture

The annual Bushwick Collective Block Party on Saturday brought together street artists, musicians, food vendors and art lovers from around the world to Troutman Street.

This year, Hip-Hop legend Rakim performed to an enthusiastic crowd, whose presence brought a powerful dose of old-school authenticity to a new-era celebration of street culture.

Founded by Bushwick-native Joseph Ficalora, each year, the artist collective transforms the streets of Bushwick into a vibrant live mural painting event with walls adorned by works from artists from all over the world. Every mural tells a meaningful story, and every corner bursts with creativity.
