Kota the Friend, Brooklyn's independent Hip Hop artist and producer, will release his new full-length album, No Rap on Sunday, on all streaming platforms at midnight Friday, June 27.

The project features Kota’s signature soulful production and lyrical style, with collaborations from Big Sean, Fivio Foreign, Liana Bank$ and Samara Cyn. The title track was produced by Kota along with much of the album, aiming for a cohesive sound that reflects his creative approach.

"No Rap on Sunday is about carving out intentional time to connect in real life, to vibe with other artists, creatives, and fans, not just online. It’s about creating space for the culture to grow through real conversations, real community and collaboration,” said Kota the Friend.

The release accompanies plans for the No Rap on Sunday Tour, a 23-city U.S. and Canada run set to include pop-up events and meet-and-greet opportunities. The tour is designed to encourage networking and community-building between artists and fans.

Kota the Friend has built a reputation as an independent voice in Hip Hop, known for direct fan engagement, a genre-blending style and entrepreneurial projects.

"We’re doing this tour differently,” Kota said. "It’s not just a show, it’s an opportunity for fans and creatives to meet, build and connect on a deeper level. I want people to walk away having built real relationships and having been inspired by the culture and community we’re creating around this album.”
