The Brooklyn Nets announced that they have officially signed free agent guard Keon Johnson to a two-way contract.

Johnson, who was drafted 21st overall back in 2021 by the Knicks (and then traded to the Los Angeles Clippers), played the last two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, appearing in 77 games with the team (12 of which were starts).

The 21-year-old athletic guard was recently part of a blockbuster three-team trade this past off-season between the Trail Blazers, Bucks, and Suns, which rerouted Johnson to Phoenix.

During his preseason stint with the Suns, Johnson put up averages of 4.6 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 13.7 minutes per game before ultimately getting waived by the team on Oct. 23, 2023.

In his young NBA career thus far, Johnson has averaged 5.9 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 14.4 minutes per contest.

The University of Tennessee alum also spent some time in the NBA G League as a member of the Ontario Clippers (L.A. Clippers affiliate team), where he put up 15.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game during the regular season.

With the signing, the Brooklyn Nets roster now stands at 18 players total.

The Nets organization has not formally disclosed terms of Johnson’s deal at this time.
