Bonjour! The Brooklyn Nets Are in Paris

The Nets will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers at Accor Arena at 2 p.m. EST.

The Brooklyn Nets are far away from their home court at Barclays Center as they gear up to play the Cleveland Cavaliers in Paris today.

As part of this season’s second NBA Global Game, the Nets will try to snap their losing streak at Accor Arena on Thursday, January 11, at 2:00pm EST.

Leading up to the upcoming match, the players got the opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of the City of Lights, including a visit to French football club Paris Saint-Germain F.C., along with a required stop at the iconic Eiffel Tower.

The Nets organization decided to bring some Brooklyn flavor to Paris and set up a team-themed pizzeria and hosted a tribute concert to the Notorious B.I.G.

The Nets’ arrival in France has been a much-anticipated affair, as the team sports a significant fan base there, according to the team.

Brooklyn Nets France, a social media account on X, currently has a following of over 12,000 users. The account is managed by a trio of French fans named Djam, Baptiste, and Nathan.

Djam, a Nets fan dating back to the team’s days in New Jersey, initially started the social media hub by himself in 2016 as a passion project. Once the account began growing in popularity over time, Djam knew that he was going to need help.

That is when fellow Nets enthusiasts, Baptiste and Nathan, entered the scene, helping Djam over the past couple of years to make the community page what it is today.

The account provides everything from live game to trade updates, as well as interactions with the French Nets community.

“The interaction between our followers and us, it’s exciting because when we are following a game at 2:00am, it’s not just us on our couches. When you can speak with another fan in France, it’s really beautiful,” said Baptiste.

The Nets (16-21) have lost six of their last seven games, while the Cavaliers (21-15) are 8-3 in their last 11 games.
