The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) is ushering in the fall season with a robust lineup of family-friendly and community-centered events curated to engage audiences of all ages. From dance workshops and film festivals to Halloween festivities and cultural experiences, BAM’s fall programming promises to inspire, educate and entertain.
Season highlights include Celebrate "Stacey Speaks Up" with political leader and author Stacey Abrams on Sept. 24, where she will share insights from her work in civic engagement.
Families can also enjoy the return of the beloved Best of BAMkids Film Festival on Nov. 9, showcasing award-winning short films for young audiences.
This year, BAM will once again host The Hard Nut, the contemporary holiday classic by the Mark Morris Dance Group, with special matinee performances aimed at children and families between Dec. 12 - 22.
Brooklyn’s favorite Halloween celebration, BAMboo!, will take over BAM’s outdoor spaces on Oct. 31 with a free and festive celebration, featuring costumes, treats and family activities.
Capping off the season is the screening of Migration, with a pre-show activity co-curated by the BAM Parent Advisory Circle, ensuring an engaging experience for younger viewers on Nov. 16.
