The centerpiece of this attraction is the 3,000-square-foot synthetic-ice skating rink that visitors can glide around with family and friends.

Enjoy outdoor fun with the family at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum's ArtRink. Now in its third year, ArtRink provides visitors with a magical winter experience as skaters can glide around as they enjoy observing artworks made by local creators.

“During our coldest months, it can be tricky for families to find exciting activities to keep young ones engaged,” said Atiba T. Edwards, President and CEO of Brooklyn Children’s Museum. “ArtRink provides an outlet to stay active while learning about the importance of coming together as a community through art.”

The centerpiece of this interactive installation is the 3,000-square-foot synthetic-ice skating rink that visitors can skate around with family and friends. Synthetic ice is less slippery than natural ice and offers young children an introduction to skating that is more controlled and cushioned to protect from falls.

Surrounding the rink are 16 pieces of artwork by local creators featured in the windows of the Museum's rooftop terrace. In addition, a series of five artist-designed children's playhouses are placed around the rink, creating an interactive village where children can play and families can pose for photos. The theme of this year's art exhibition is “We Grow Together,” and serves to reflect the ways we as individuals and neighbors contribute our creativity and values to collectively create healthy communities.

Access to ArtRink skating sessions require an add-on ticket. Visitors are invited to enjoy the art installation and playhouses without a separate ticket.
