Spring break is just around the corner, Brooklyn! New York City Public Schools will be on break from April 10-14.

If you're a parent, you're probably wondering how to keep your kids entertained during their time off from school. Fortunately, sending them to camp is a great option to keep them active, engaged and having fun while they're out of class.

That's why BK Reader has put together a list of some of the best spring break camps out there, so you can find the perfect fit for your kiddo. Whether they're interested in art, science or something else entirely, there's sure to be a camp on this list that they'll love.

Trail Blazers Nature Camp

During this week-long camp, campers will explore the plant and animal life cycles triggered by warming weather. Participants will get their hands dirty investigating decomposition and germination, model climate and migration patterns, and challenge themselves to reflect on their own cycles of growth and change this year. Some activities include hiking, art, science, music and solo time. Trail Blazers will be accepting children through pre-K to grade 5.

Williamsburg Soccer Club Camp

The awesome soccer coaches at Williamsburg Soccer Club will lead the players through a series of organized mini-games that help to develop listening skills, balance, running, playing as a group, basic ball skills and foot-eye coordination. There will also be plenty of time to scrimmage and play! Campers will be split into different age groups, for 5-6 years old and 7-10 years old. 


Child’s Play NY: Improvaganza

In this dynamic improv class camp, students learn the tools to think on their feet, listen and respond with wit, and be spontaneously creative. Students get practice being collaborative and hilarious while making something they can be proud of. Improvisation is not only a great part of the actor’s toolbox, it is a powerful social skill that gets kids trusting their instincts, shifting perspective and most importantly having fun.

Kids ages 7-11 can attend one or all of the days.


Textile Arts Center Camp

During their mini break camps, Textile Arts Center aims to instill in students an appreciation for handmade textiles and confidence in exploring their creativity. Each day, campers will get a chance to explore traditional methods of weaving, dyeing, embroidery and sewing. One-day camps are available during Spring Recess, and children ages 5-11 are welcome to join. Students will also have ample outdoor time. 


Brooklyn Arts Exchange

BAX fosters creativity and encourages playful exploration in a positive and nurturing environment. Its Spring Break Arts Program provides young artists with opportunities to explore different forms of performing and mixed media arts. The camp sports a healthy balance of fun indoor and outdoor play, performance and art-making activities. There will be a different theme every day, so you can register by the day, for the full week or mix and match.

This camp also offers the option of extended hours to make the program a full day, and scholarships. BAX will be accepting children from kindergarten to grade 5.
