Statistics have shown that cosmetic surgery procedures have increased by well over fifty percent since 2020, which is amazing to think, given everything that’s happened in the world over the last three years.

It seems during this time, men and women have been thinking more seriously about anti-aging procedures, sorting out their diet and fitness, and ensuring that they’re forward-thinking when it comes to investing in good skincare and tweakments.

Whether you’re someone who is influenced by the celebrities you follow on social media, or you’re keener on getting advice from qualified and renowned surgeons and aestheticians, here’s the lowdown on what’s hot in NYC at the moment when it comes to cosmetic treatments and enhancements.

Bigger is better….no more

Aestheticians based in New York like Ashley Amalfi MD are noticing that in clinic they’re seeing clients who want a much more natural look and are straying away from procedures to give them a huge cleavage or a bigger butt. Smaller, pert, natural-looking breast implants are becoming more de rigeur, whilst sculpting and contouring hips, thighs, and butt is in, rather than the slightly OTT influencer promoted BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift).

Minimally invasive treatments are in

There’s a swing towards minimally invasive treatments and tweakments too, especially those that promise to firm, tighten, and sculpt without needing hours on the operating table and significant recovery time.

In particular, women who want to look at procedures to help with improving their sexual function, especially after having given birth or experiencing menopause might want to explore New York vaginoplasty clinics to find a range of non-invasive options that can assist them in achieving good gynecological health again.

Cosmetic surgery ‘reversals’

Consultants have also noted an uptick in the number of clients they’re seeing who want their original procedures reversed and made to look more realistic. This is put down (in part) to the trends social media influencers and celebrities are setting.

Instead of a very obvious ‘I’ve had work done’ red carpet reveal or Instagram shoot, clients are now requesting that any work they have is done so in a proportionate way - taking into account their body shape, BMI, and contours, rather than opting for a set look that means everyone has the same procedure and gets the same aesthetic from it.

This tailored approach means there’s a subtler end result and one that is a little more achievable for the regular person on the street who’s considering aesthetic work.

If the natural look is what you’re after, you’re in luck. As we move further into the age of the influencer, it looks like many of them have finally started to realize that making a subtle impact is better than a completely unachievable filtered facade.
