A French tourist was arrested on Friday for climbing to the top of the Williamsburg Bridge, police told the New York Daily News.
Cops were called to the East River span at about 2:15am after Louis de Lestrange, 21, was seen climbing the bridge.
NYPD Aviation, Harbor and Emergency Services units were called in to grab Lestrange, but by the time they began climbing up the bridge, he was already on his way down, cops told the newspaper.
Lestrange, who lives in Paris, was captured by police on the bridge’s bicycle path. He was charged with reckless endangerment, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and violating local law, the paper reported.
