Congressman Dan Goldman launched his re-election campaign for New York’s 10th Congressional District on Jan. 6, 2026.

Congressman Dan Goldman on Tuesday launched his re-election campaign for New York’s 10th Congressional District, highlighting his leadership standing up to Donald Trump, fighting for working families, and defending democracy.

In his campaign video, Goldman, who represents Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Carroll Gardens, Red Hook, Park Slope, Windsor Terrace and Sunset Park along with portions of Manhattan, portrayed himself as a tough former prosector and emphasized his push to tax affluent wealthy Americans, which includes himself as he is an heir to the Levi Strauss & Co. fortune, to fund universal childcare and Medicare for all programs.

“I’ve spent my career standing up for the rule of law, holding the powerful to account, and working for every person in this country to get equal access to the American Dream," Goldman said in a statement. "I’m excited to launch my campaign for re-election today surrounded by community leaders and working class New Yorkers for whom I have been fighting for three years in Congress. I’m proud of my progressive record, and I’m confident that voters in my district recognize that the existential threats we face today require members of Congress who find solutions and get results, not career politicians just looking for their next job.”

Goldman is running against Brad Lander, the former city Comptroller and Brooklyn City Council Member that launched his bid in December.

Goldman spent 10 years as a prosecutor in the Southern District of New York and led the first impeachment investigation of Donald Trump for abusing the power of his office for his own personal gain. In 2025, Goldman successfully sued the Trump administration to halt U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's policy of blocking Congressional oversight visits.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Whip Katherine Clark, and Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar, as well as Local Union No. 3 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) on Tuesday threw their support behind Goldman.

Lander is supported by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, U.S. Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, state Senator Andrew Gounardes and state Assemblymember Robert Carroll.

The Democratic primary election is on June 23.
