The Red Hook pool will reopen July 18 after ongoing repairs delayed the start of the summer swim season.
As the Parks Department got ready to open the pool in June, the filter plant beneath the pool flooded, delaying the opening of the pool for the second time in two years.
The pool will reopen on Saturday at 11:00am, while Adult Lap Swim will begin at 7:00am on Monday, July 20, according to a Parks Department spokesperson.
"I'm so grateful to the Parks employees who worked tirelessly to make these repairs and get Red Hook Pool back open," NYC Parks Commissioner Tricia Shimamura said in a statement. "We know how important this pool is to the Red Hook community, and we appreciate everyone's support and patience as we worked to reopen the pool. We're excited to welcome everyone back this Saturday for swimming and to bring back our popular Adult Lap Swim program to Red Hook Pool for the rest of the summer."
The Red Hook pool, now in its 90th season, will undergo a $122 million renovation that is scheduled to start in 2028.
