New York State assembly member Brian A. Cunningham said he is accepting applications for his office’s internship program.
Taking place during the spring 2024 semester, the initiative gives college students the opportunity to gain work experience and learn about the inner workings of a New York State Assembly.
Priority will be given to applicants that reside in the Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Crown Heights, or central Brooklyn neighborhoods.
During the internship, students will get to engage in a variety of different tasks such as corresponding with New York state agencies and constituents, researching, data entry, as well as assisting with requests and other public events, to name a few.
According to Cunningham, he is seeking out interns that are “eager, conscientious, detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, able to handle multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision, and computer literate.”
While the position is open to all academic majors, the internship is recommended for pupils that have previously worked for a political office or government agency.
Interested candidates can apply for the internship position by emailing a cover letter, resume, and one-to-three-page writing sample to [email protected] by the January 19 deadline.
