Brooklyn Assembly Member Stefani Zinerman recently commenced her re-election campaign at the Cultural Museum of African Art in Restoration Plaza.

Zinerman currently represents the 56th New York State Assembly District, which covers the neighborhoods of Bedford Stuyvesant and Crown Heights.

During the event, the assembly member talked to community members about her platform and goals for her campaign, which includes building off the success of past initiatives that addressed housing stability, equity for women, educational literacy and more.

“There is still work to do, and I am up to the challenge of implementing more solutions to make a positive change," said Zinerman.

Several former and current leaders were in-attendance at the event including Henry Butler and Kenesha Cooper (Brooklyn district leaders), as well as Roger L. Green, a former New York State assembly member.

Also speaking at the event was New York Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, who discussed the importance of civic involvement and rallied support for Zinerman's re-election bid.

"Stefani is a compassionate community leader, a defender of the disenfranchised, a voice for the voiceless, a powerful, profound, principle, progressive public servant, and with your help, we are going to make sure she's reelected to the New York State Assembly," said Jeffries. “I'm here to stand with Stefani Zinerman because she's always stood with us."
