Ridgewood Savings Bank will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its Bensonhurst branch at 7124 18th Ave. with a month of community events, activities and giveaways in October. The celebration marks 25 years of service to residents, families and businesses in the Brooklyn neighborhood.

The schedule begins Oct. 3 with a fall festival from 11:00am to 1:00pm, featuring refreshments, fall-themed crafts, prizes and activities. On Oct. 10, the branch will take part in the Columbus Day parade, offering popcorn, flags and festive accessories.

A community free shred day is scheduled for Oct. 17 from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

“Twenty-five years in Bensonhurst represents much more than a milestone for Ridgewood. It represents the relationships we have built with generations of customers and neighbors who have welcomed us into this community,” said Leonard Stekol, chairman, president and CEO of Ridgewood Savings Bank.

Residents can bring up to five boxes of sensitive documents per household for secure disposal. The Oct. 24 anniversary birthday celebration will feature shaved ice from the Kona Ice Truck, a balloon artist and a prize wheel.

The month will conclude Oct. 31 with a Halloween celebration from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

Neighbors are invited to attend in costume, receive a sweet treat and participate in activities at the branch.

The anniversary reflects Ridgewood’s long history in the New York metropolitan area and its focus on community banking. Founded in 1921, the mutual savings bank operates 36 branches and provides deposit, lending and digital banking services.

Its community activities include supporting local organizations and small businesses, offering financial education and assisting families with financial goals.

Throughout October, customers and community members also can enter the Bensonhurst 25th Anniversary Sweepstakes for a chance to win a $250 gift card. Entries close Oct. 31 at 5:00pm. Official rules are available at the Bensonhurst branch.

Giveaways and promotional items are available while supplies last. The anniversary events are open to community members, providing opportunities for residents to participate in activities at the branch throughout the month. Member FDIC.
