Frank J. Bisignano, a Brooklyn native and head of the Social Security Administration of the United States, has announced a $250 contribution to the Trump Accounts of eligible children living in his former neighborhood.
The donation, made through The Bisignano Family Fund, will benefit children ages 2 to 8 residing in ZIP code 11234, which covers Mill Basin, Marine Park, Bergen Beach and Flatlands.
Announced on Oct. 29, 2026, the initiative provides a $250 contribution to each qualifying child's individual investment account. According to the announcement, the funds have been deposited into the accounts and invested in a fund that tracks the performance of leading U.S. companies.
"Brooklyn is home for me," Bisignano said. "My life was shaped by the people, schools and neighborhoods in Marine Park, Mill Basin, Bergen Beach and Flatlands. This donation is an investment in the children of Brooklyn, giving them a boost in their personal wealth building journeys."
The accounts are designed to accumulate long-term savings, with investment growth deferred from taxation under the program's rules.
The contribution reflects Bisignano's personal connection to Brooklyn, where he grew up in the Old Mill Basin neighborhood.
By directing financial support to children in the area, the initiative aims to give young residents an early opportunity to build savings and develop a financial foundation for the future. It also brings private philanthropic support directly to families in a community with longstanding ties to the donor.
Unlike a general charitable contribution, the initiative directs funding into individual children's investment accounts. It forms part of the broader Trump Accounts program, which provides investment accounts for eligible children across the country.
Children born between Jan. 1, 2025 and Dec. 31, 2028, are also eligible for a separate $1,000 seed contribution from the U.S. Treasury, subject to program requirements.
Parents and legal guardians must activate their children's accounts to receive contributions from family members, friends and employers.
