The new tasting event features food and drinks from some of Brooklyn’s best restaurants.

City Harvest, New York City's largest food rescue organization, will host their inaugural Brooklyn tasting event in Sunset Park in May.

City Harvest Presents: Brooklyn Bites will bring together some of the biggest names in Brooklyn’s restaurant scene to support City Harvest’s work rescuing and delivering free, nutritious food for millions of New Yorkers in need, according to a news release.

Guests will enjoy delicious bites and drinks from some of Brooklyn’s most notable restaurants and mixologists, including Leuca by Andrew Carmellini & Anthony Ricco, INDAY by Basu Ratnam, La Lonchería by Danny Mena, Mexology by Ivy Stark, Masalawala & Sons by Soham Deshpande, Junior’s Restaurant & Bakery by Kristina Beauchamp and Alan Rosen, Hainan Chicken House by Chris Low, Bar Vinazo by Silvia Garcia-Nevado, Hometown Bar-B-Que by Billy Durney, and Nami Nori Williamsburg by Jihan Lee, Takahiro Sakaeda, Lisa Limb and celebrity cake designer Ron Ben-Israel.

The evening will also include tastings prepared by Danny Meyer’s Union Square Events at the venue, the organization's state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen and and outdoor barbecue area with stunning views of the New York skyline.

“City Harvest calls Sunset Park, Brooklyn home, and we are delighted to feature some of the borough’s incredible restaurants while raising money in support of our work providing nutritious food for free to New Yorkers in need,” says Jilly Stephens, chief exeutive officer of City Harvest. “Visits to New York City soup kitchens and food pantries are up more than 75% compared to pre-pandemic levels, so this support comes at a critical time.”

City Harvest Presents: Brooklyn Bites will take place on May 7, 2024. Visit cityharvest.org/brooklyn-bites for more information and to purchase tickets.
