After undergoing extensive renovations following a devastating fire, Morgan’s Brooklyn Barbecue is set to welcome guests back next week.
Morgan’s will begin serving patrons on Oct. 25, after an 18-month closure. Located in Prospect Heights, the smokehouse opened in 2013. It ran successfully for a decade before a calamitous three-alarm fire forced its closure in early 2021.
For the past 18 months, GlazierWorks, a family-led hospitality firm, has been undertaking an extensive rebuild on the 2,100-square-foot, 45-seat restaurant.

“It was tremendously important for us to maintain the integrity of the original space, which is so familiar for our regulars, BBQ lovers and the neighborhood,” Mathew Glazier, owner of GlazierWorks, said.
While preserving the notable green concrete wall, Glazier put focus on the central bar while adding wooden furnishings, metal accents and chalkboard menus.
The restaurant also opens to a 1,400-square-foot, 54-seat patio.
Signature Slow-Smoked Barbecue
Morgan’s chef, Cenobio Canalizo can be found in the open kitchen preparing the restaurant's signature slow-smoked prime brisket, sausage, pork ribs and bacon.
Canalizo’s signature Tlayuda, a Mexican pizza, was lauded as one of the ‘Best NYC Dishes of 2021’ by New York critic, Robert Sietsema.
Morgan’s popular brunch will also return with brisket hash, chicken and waffles, candied bacon micheladas and bloody marys.

Upon their return, patrons may also notice a few new additions to the menu, including Philadelphia smoked brisket ‘cheese steak,’ smoked cowboy steak and beef back ribs.
The smokehouse pairs its culinary offerings with more than 70 selections of bourbon and rye whiskey including a barrel-aged Vieux Carré, vermouth-finished boulevardier and the circa 1862 whiskey cocktail.
