A man who robbed a Carver Bank in Crown Heights Wednesday afternoon was caught and arrested shortly after, just a few blocks away, reported 71st Precinct police.
According to reports, on Wednesday, January 22, at around 3:00pm, a man walked into a Chase Bank, located at 1000 Nostrand Avenue on the corner of Empire Boulevard.
The suspect passed the teller a note demanding money. After the teller refused, the suspect walked across the street to the Carver Bank and again demanded money in a threatening manner.
This time, the bank teller handed over money, and the male fled the bank.
Both Chase and Carver banks immediately called 911 and provided police a detailed description of the suspect. Police were able to identify the suspect a few blocks away. The man was apprehended, arrested and all the money was recovered and returned to the bank.
