In an effort to give back to the Brownsville community and to foster deeper relationships with the residents, Healthfirst is hosting a community beautification Paint Party on Thursday, October 5, and its annual Health and Wellness Expo on Saturday, October 7. The the day-long health expo, joined by Congreswoman Ivette D. Clarke, elected officials and medical experts, is set to take over Brownsville's Dr. Green Playground - rain or shine.
Healthfirst, committed to supporting and beautifying the communities through collaboration between community members and Healthfirst employees, has been working on various service projects, including painting the fence at the Van Dyke Community Center, since August 2015. On Thursday, the team is returning to paint the remaining fence, and is inviting the community to join in a paint party at the Brownsville center.
On Saturday, October 7, Healthfirst will be joined by Congresswoman Ivette D. Clarke for its annual Health and Wellness Expo. The increasingly popular event is expected to attract more than 2,500 attendees and aims to generate heightened awareness on pressing health matters affecting the community.

The day will kick off with a town hall breakfast on health care at the Van Dyke Community Center from 9:00am to 11:00am, led by the congresswoman, local elected officials and health experts. The free Health and Wellness Expo will follow the panel discussion from 11:00 am to 6:00pm at the Dr. Green Playground.
The health and wellness pavilion will offer free medical screenings, prizes and giveaways, spa treatments and massages, a fresh fruit market, healthy cooking demonstrations, fitness workshops and a kid's zone. Attendees will be entertained with live performances featuring R'n'B groups Tru Sol and Legacy.
The event is free, open to attendees of all ages.
