Deli Owner Shot and Killed During Attempted Robbery in Bed-Stuy

According to reports, the shooter, described only as a black male, entered the Vegas Deli and Grocery, located at 54 Howard Avenue, on Sunday at around 6:30 pm. After entering, he pointed a gun at the shop owner and demanded, "Give me the money."

He then fired one shot at the victim, identified as Rafael Pujols, 49, hitting him in the abdomen. The shooter then fled the location on foot. No property was removed.

When police arrived on the scene, they found Pujols lying on the floor unconscious, bleeding from his abdomen. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:30pm.

No arrest have been made, and investigators are currently working the case.
