Community Board 2 Announces Fall 2014 Meeting Locations and Presenters

Community Board 2, covering the neighborhoods of Boerum Hill, Bridge Plaza, Brooklyn Heights, the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Clinton Hill, Downtown Brooklyn, Dumbo, Farragut, Fort Greene, Fulton Ferry Landing, Vinegar Hill and Wallabout, has announced the dates and locations of its 2014 general meetings.

All of the meetings are scheduled for 6:00pm and are open to the public.

The community board's fall meetings and speakers are  as follows:

? Wednesday, September 10 - Brown Memorial Baptist Church, 52 Gates Avenue: The Office of Child Support Enforcement, a part of the New York City Human Resources Administration, will present surrounding the benefits that the child support system provides to custodial and noncustodial parents.

? Monday, October 6 - Ingersoll Community Center, 177 Myrtle Avenue at Prince Street: The commanding officers of the 84th and 88th precincts, Housing Bureau PSA3, and Transit District 30 will brief the community board and guests on issues in their respective service areas.

? Wednesday, November 12 - Brooklyn Hospital, 121 DeKalb Avenue at St. Felix Street: Dr. Richard Becker, the hospital president, will discuss health care in North Brooklyn in the aftermath of the closure of Long Island College Hospital.

? Wednesday, December 10 - St. Francis College, 180 Remsen Street: Richard Bearak, director of land use for Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, will make a presentation about the community boards' roles in the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP)and other land use actions.

The community board generally holds its monthly meeting on the second Wednesday of the month, September-June. The October meeting date was changed to avoid a conflict with a religious holiday.

The meeting agendas also include reports by Shirley A. McRae, chairperson of Community Board 2, District Manager Robert Perris, and the community board's committees. The meeting concludes with an open session at which time, the public may speak.
