Well, it's about time. Apple is getting with the program, duh! Brooklyn is over here, in this direction!

According to a report from the New York Post, Apple has secured a long-term lease to open a 20,000-square-foot retail space at 247 Bedford Ave., near North 3rd Street-- its first location in Brooklyn! Williamsburg, to be exact.

So hipsters will get first dibs.

But it's not so far away from Central Brooklyn-- just a few blocks away from the Bedford Avenue L train stop, so Bed-Stuy/Bushwick border residents can easily access it from the subway at Broadway.

The new retail outlet is slated for completion in April 2015 and will be Apple's seventh store in New York City, joining the five existing locations in Manhattan and one in Staten Island.

The two-story brick structure is currently in the midst of a remodel and will feature large, arched windows at street level when the renovations are complete. And as noted by Fast Company, a Whole Foods is in the works across the street, at 242 Bedford Ave.
