The landmark Wythe Diner was moved on Saturday from its home in Williamsburg and transported to a film and TV studio in the Brooklyn Navy Yard where it will preserved and used as a set, according to ABC Eyewitness News 7 New York.
"The former owner of the diner sold the site to a developer but it was very important to him that it not be demolished and it could still be part of the fabric of the neighborhood, so I think this was a really good way to keep it going, and he is going to come visit it from time to time, and it'll still live on in features and on screen," said studio owner Doug Steiner.
The diner arrived at the studio on Saturday night, the news station reported.
"Whoever bought it had to help me preserve the diner. I've imagined this for years, I can't believe it's actually happening," said the diner's former owner, Sandy Stillman.
