The self-guided food and drink tour returns to Bedford-Stuyvesant this Sunday, inviting attendees to explore neighborhood favorites and new hotspots while supporting youth culinary apprenticeships and food justice programs led by local nonprofit Seeds in the Middle.

Food lovers will have a chance to explore the rich and diverse culinary landscape of Bedford-Stuyvesant on Sunday, April 27, during the Tastes of Bed-Stuy, a self-guided food and drink tour honoring local chefs and community changemakers.

The event, stretching from Tompkins Avenue to Ralph Avenue, and especially highlighting Lewis and Malcolm X Avenues, features a wide range of food and drink options including gourmet French fare at Chez Oskar, vegan Moon Milk at Secret Garden and ice cream at Lady Moo Moo.

Participants can purchase tickets in advance and pick them up at a will-call table outside Peaches at 393 Lewis Ave. There, attendees will receive a printed menu and map of participating establishments, allowing them to design their own personalized culinary journey.

Proceeds from the event will support Seeds in the Middle, a nonprofit fighting food injustice in underserved neighborhoods. The organization also runs weekly farm stands at P.S. 235 in Flatbush and in Coney Island and offers fresh produce while empowering students to run their own markets and healthy food cafes.

The funds will go specifically toward the Lloyd Porter Culinary Scholars program, an initiative for youth ages 16 to 24 led by local chefs. The program is named after the late Lloyd Porter, a beloved Bed-Stuy restaurateur and farm-to-table pioneer.
