Japanese sake lovers will get a chance to explore over 70 premium varieties of the iconic beverage when SAKE-CON ‘25 comes to Brooklyn on Saturday, May 3.
Organized by Upstairs NYC, a nonprofit promoting cultural exchange between New York and diverse communities, the event will run from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the Japan Village Courtyard in Industry City, according to a press release.
The immersive tasting experience will feature sake from 40 breweries, including internationally renowned brands like Dassai Blue, Hakkaisan, Brooklyn Kura and Kikusui. Also featured will be a regional showcase of sake from five Japanese prefectures including Kochi, Kanagawa and Ishikawa.

Attendees will have the opportunity to sample super-premium selections, including the IWA 5 ($500 per bottle) and Kamoshibito Kuheiji "Hi no Kishi" ($1,200 per bottle), typically reserved for high-end restaurants.
Other participating breweries include AFURI, Izumibashi, Suigei and Fukuchitose.
The organizers described the event as a "journey through the heart of sake culture and a treasure trove of Japanese delights."
The event will also include a traditional taiko drum performance, Japanese food stalls an Asian artisan marketplace, and photo ops with colorful koinobori (carp streamers) and lantern displays. Guests will receive an original sake glass as a keepsake.
