Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment announced an expansion of Brooklyn Basketball, the official youth basketball program of the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty, with three new locations, expanded school partnerships and additional competitive opportunities planned to increase access to the sport across Brooklyn.

The new facilities in Greenpoint, Bushwick and Gowanus are scheduled to open in 2027. They will host after-school clubs, camps, clinics and other year-round activities.

The initiative aims to give more young people opportunities to develop basketball skills, build confidence and participate in organized sports within their neighborhoods. Its expanded reach will also strengthen connections between local organizations, schools and families through accessible community programming.

"Brooklyn Basketball was created to expand access to the game for young people across our borough, and the impact we have seen over the past year reinforces the importance of continuing to grow that access," said Marissa Shorenstein, CEO of Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment.

The expansion builds on the Brooklyn Basketball Training Center in Downtown Brooklyn, which opened in September 2025 and has welcomed more than 16,000 people. The program reaches more than 50,000 young people annually through free clinics and programming in more than 250 New York City schools.

The program will also expand its After-School Club offerings. A new Performance Track will provide three sessions a week focused on skill development, team practice and Saturday games. Participants will also have opportunities to compete in leagues, tournaments, playoffs and championships. A separate Skills Track will continue to emphasize fundamentals and individual development.

A new Community Partner Program will provide selected local organizations with community clinics, equipment, coaching education, an annual grant and opportunities connected to the Nets and Liberty. The program's curriculum uses a four-level Player Pathway based on skill development, decision-making and readiness, with USA Basketball-certified coaches leading instruction.
