Join the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter for their 42nd Annual Black Book Fair, a community-centered celebration of Black literature and culture on May 17.
Enjoy a full day of readings, booksellers, a kids corner, music and panel discussions on subjects including Black authorship, banned books and the fight for intellectual freedom, and community, culture and resistance.

Guardians of the Word: Black Bookstores as Sites of Resistance, 12:30pm

Writing Against Erasure: Black Voices in the Age of Banned Books, 1:45pm

Black Love is Resistance: Romance, Joy and Radical Imagination, 3:00pm

Throughout the day, there will be short selections from independent authors who will read from their work, as well as a Kids Corner with readings and fun hands-on activities from 12:00pm - 4:30pm.
Vendors will selling books and other items, and DJ Jux will round out the event from 5:00pm - 7:00pm for the Biggest Black Book Party Ever!
The Black Book Fair is a legacy program of the Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In its 42nd year, this year's theme aims to center Black bookstores and artists as bastions for hope, refuge and authenticity in an ever changing cultural landscape.
