The Black Man’s Health Festival is set to return in 2025 with an expanded two-day experience on Friday, June 6, and Saturday, June 7. The event, presented by Heart, Body & Soul Inc. (HBS), focuses on wellness, unity and transformation for Black men, while welcoming families, allies and community members for a weekend centered on health equity and joy.
The festival was founded by Christopher Williams, a survivor of multiple heart attacks and stage III appendiceal cancer. His personal journey inspired the creation of HBS, a nonprofit dedicated to improving health outcomes for Black men through access, awareness, advocacy and action.
“Black men deserve joy, healing, support, and access to the resources that help them thrive,” says Williams. “This festival is more than a celebration, it’s a call to action.”
With preventable health disparities continuing to affect Black communities, this year’s event arrives at a critical time. In response, organizers are introducing a new Community Block Party, aimed at transforming Brooklyn’s streets into a lively center of music, wellness and cultural pride.
The weekend begins on Friday, June 6, at 7:00 pm with Sweat Fete, an alcohol-free dance fitness party hosted at Crown Hill Theatre. The event combines movement and celebration, with 100% of proceeds supporting HBS’s mission to promote Black men’s health through joy and community engagement.
On Saturday, June 7, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, The Black Man’s Health Festival and Community Block Party will take place at the Weeksville Heritage Center. The all-day event will feature live DJs and performances, yoga and breathwork sessions, a self-care lounge offering free grooming services, wellness workshops, a soulful sanctuary with massage and chiropractic care, a “Ask The Doctor” booth, holistic practitioners in the Healing Village, food vendors, and local artisans. The event is open to Black men, their families, and allies who are committed to advancing health equity.
The festival is presented in partnership with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, CCNY-MSK Partnership, African Ancestry, MetroPlusHealth, BKLYN Cardio, BKReader, Irie Jam Radio, Soca Shores, WhereItzAt Magazine and many more.
