Maimonides Health – Brooklyn’s largest healthcare system — cut the ribbon to open its new Adult and Pediatric care center on Monday, Aug. 10 after its announcement earlier this month.

Located at 6323 Seventh Ave., the new center was designed to provide coordinated care close to their homes for busy families. The practice brings together adult primary care and pediatric primary care, obstetrics and gynecology, endocrinology, urology, nutritional counseling and eventually neurology services under one roof.

“Health care should be built around people’s busy lives — not the other way around,” said Ken Gibbs, President and CEO of Maimonides Health.

“As a nurse, I know what happens when care is spread across multiple office locations,” said Chair of NYC Council Committee on Hospitals Mercedes Narcissee. “Bringing primary care, pediatrics, and women’s health into one building in a convenient location changes that for many Brooklyn families.”

The site was developed after conversations with residents and community leaders who felt South Brooklyn deserved an expansion in women's health services. The center is located near the Gowanus Expressway, near several public transportation options.

The site features a playroom for children, lactation spaces, same-day appointments and online self-scheduling, according to the Brooklyn Eagle.

“Maimonides’ Adult and Pediatric Care at 7th Avenue facility reflects what our patients told us they needed: convenient, coordinated care where mothers, children, and families can receive high-quality services in one welcoming location,” Gibbs said.

The new location expands access to women’s healthcare from adolescence and pregnancy through menopause and aging.
