COVID-19 tests have been hard to come by in Brooklyn, but a new initiative from the federal government is attempting to fix that.
On Tuesday, the Biden administration launched a new website where anyone across the country can order up to four COVID-19 rapid result tests free of charge, and have them delivered straight to your door.
The website says the tests typically ship within 7-12 days, and it urges people to "order your tests now so you have them when you need them."
Tests will be shipped in late January, the administration has said.
The site has already had significant demand, with The New York Times reporting it had one million visitors trying to order tests at one point on Tuesday evening.
The White House announced in December it would be mailing at-home COVID-19 tests to any U.S. household that wanted one amidst the surge in cases brought on by the new Omicron variant. It said at the it was preparing to ship as many as 500 million test kits, according to NBC news.
