It's no secret that Brooklyn is a haven for art and artists who exhibit their works across different galleries. The ethnic and racial diversity of Brooklyn residents is represented in its art created by emerging and seasoned artists and inspires aspirational creatives. 

If art gallery hopping is your thing, you're in luck because we have curated a list of great galleries to visit:

1. Smack Mellon

Located at 92 Plymouth St., Smack Mellon is a haven for emerging, under-recognized mid-career artists, and brings their works to the public through exhibitions and studio programs. 

2. Transmitter

Located at 1329 Willoughby Ave, Transmitter is a collaborative gallery space showcasing contemporary art, often featuring experimental and thought-provoking works. 

3. The Invisible Dog Art Center

Located at 51 Bergen St, Brooklyn, The Invisible Dog Art Center, located in the three-story former factory building, is a multidisciplinary arts center that hosts exhibitions, performances, and events that blur the lines between art and everyday life. The ground floor is for public performances, and exhibitions showcasing artworks by artists from all around the world. In the second and third floors are divided into studios for over 30 artists who create artworks in different genres. 

4. FiveMyles

FiveMyles is a contemporary art gallery and community space located in Crown Heights, features exhibitions, performances, and workshops that engage with social and political issues, promoting dialogue and cultural exchange. The gallery is located at 558 St Johns Pl.

5. Richard Beavers Gallery

Richard Beavers Gallery is a contemporary art gallery that is committed to facilitating a dialogue amongst emerging and mid career artists that investigate social and political issues at the forefront of the Black community. The gallery, at 408 Marcus Garvey Blvd., concentrates on work and media that articulates urban visual culture, and provides access and education for people of African descent.
