The Other Art Fair is set to open its 15th Brooklyn edition between May 8–11, featuring 125 emerging artists, interactive installations and immersive experiences that break away from the traditional gallery model.

Described as an antidote to the conventional art fair, The Other Art Fair, presented by Saatchi Art, offers direct engagement between artists and collectors, transparent pricing and a range of hands-on activities, including DJ sets, tattoo pop-ups, craft cocktails and a whisky tasting inside a reimagined NYC subway car, according to a press release.

“We are proud to reach the milestone 15th edition of The Other Art Fair Brooklyn this spring; as ever, we remain dedicated to supporting independent artists and redefining how people experience art," said Emily-Jean Alexander, fair director in Brooklyn and Chicago. "Our mission is to make the art world more accessible and inclusive while showcasing boundary-pushing artwork and immersive experiences that challenge conventions. This edition is a testament to the power of creative expression and the vibrant Brooklyn community that makes this possible.”

Held at ZeroSpace in Gowanus, the fair will highlight mostly New York-based artists working across diverse media, including documentary photography, embroidery and illustration. Attendees can also expect special events like portrait styling sessions with featured artist and bestselling author Anna Marie Tendler, interactive scavenger hunts and flower-making workshops by Summer Space Studio.

Other artist-led experiences include Ben Lenovitz’s “Fantasy Drawing Experience” and custom patch sewing by artist OOH Baby.

New Futures Award winner Zoe Papini will debut new work exploring human estrangement and imaginative landscapes. Papini, a graduate of the New York Academy of Art, will receive mentorship and a free booth space as part of the fair’s initiative to uplift emerging talent.

The Other Art Fair will also continue its partnership with Balcones Distilling, featuring muralist and ceramicist Isolina Minjeong as the Balcones Artist in Residence. Minjeong will unveil a site-specific installation on opening night. Visitors can also explore a curated whisky tasting experience inside a custom subway cart.

Additionally, celebrity tattoo artist and fine art talent Scott Campbell will showcase Beboe, his line of luxury hemp gummies at the event.
