The third annual Show Brooklyn Some Love Fest will return to Downtown Brooklyn on Saturday, May 9, bringing a free, family-friendly celebration to City Point and Albee Square Plaza during Mother’s Day weekend.

More than a dozen local organizations are joining forces to highlight Brooklyn’s communities and the mothers and caregivers who support them.

Presented by Brooklyn Org and City Point, the event builds on last year’s festival, which drew more than 1,000 attendees, with an expanded lineup designed to welcome even more families across indoor and outdoor spaces.

A centerpiece of the festival is Brooklyn’s largest free Mother’s Day flower bar, where visitors can create custom bouquets.

The event also features a wide range of interactive programming, including activities with the Brooklyn Museum’s Museum on Wheels, dance classes and performances by the Mark Morris Dance Group and opportunities to meet dancers from Brooklyn Ballet.

Hands-on art experiences will be offered throughout the day, including bead-making workshops led by UrbanGlass and crafts hosted by the Red Hook Art Project. Live entertainment includes African drumming performances by Hope for Desperate Hearts and an African dance workshop led by Friends of Abolitionist Place.

Visitors can also enjoy discounted treats, with participating vendors at DeKalb Market Hall offering $1 desserts during the event.

The festival, from 11:00am to 2:00pm, is organized in partnership with Brooklyn Bridge Parents, Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and Stardust Fund as part of the Monuments to Motherhood initiative. Additional participating organizations include Brooklyn Book Bodega, the Noel Pointer Foundation and Youth Design Center, among others.

The event remains free and open to the public, with programming aimed at celebrating families, creativity and community connections across the borough.
