Brooklyn is gearing up for its most dazzling New Year’s Eve tradition as Borough President Antonio Reynoso and Prospect Park Alliance, in partnership with Brooklyn Org and Brooklyn Public Library, host the borough’s annual fireworks celebration at Grand Army Plaza.

The 45-year tradition returns on Wednesday, Dec. 31, transforming Prospect Park into a sea of light, music and celebration. Live entertainment kicks off at 10:00pm, with Brooklyn band Quintessential Playlist, followed by a midnight fireworks show illuminating the night sky above Brooklyn’s Backyard.

"There’s no place better to ring in the new year than at Prospect Park,” said Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso.

The free, family-friendly event invites neighbors from across the city to welcome 2026 together under the stars. Guests are encouraged to arrive early for a good view and can RSVP at prospectpark.org/nye.

"Celebrating the New Year in Prospect Park is a beloved tradition, and we're excited to welcome New Yorkers to Brooklyn's Backyard to ring in 2026!" said NYC Parks Commissioner Iris Rodriguez-Rosa.
