New York will welcome five new players to their opening night squad, including the offseason additions of two former league MVPs, Jonquel Jones and Breanna Stewart; all-time assist percentage leader, Courtney Vandersloot; defensive veteran, Kayla Thornton; and the 2022 No. 5 overall pick, Nyara Sabally.

The new faces will join two-time All-Star center, Stefanie Dolson; All-WNBA Second Team guard, Sabrina Ionescu; and the rest of the returning Liberty players to try and make a championship run this year — the franchise's 27th season in the WNBA.

The Liberty will kick off the regular season in Washington on May 19, where they will square off against the Mystics on opening night. The game is set to begin at 7:00pm ET, and will be broadcasted locally on My9 Network and the YES App, as well as NBA TV for out-of-market viewers.
