The Bushwick Film Festival is back from Oct. 1–5 for its 18th edition, bringing five days of independent film, culture and community to venues across Brooklyn.
Founded in 2007, the festival showcases 100 films from more than 60 countries and draws thousands of attendees, while also hosting free workshops and public programs.
This year’s theme, Meet Me at the Movies, highlights the power of friendship, connection, and the simple joy of sharing stories.
“This year, we’re leaning into the impact of friendship and the power of connection,” says BFF Founder Kweighbaye Kotee. “We’re creating a festival experience that feels heartfelt, nostalgic, and highly visual. We want audiences to leave feeling more connected, creatively recharged and reminded of how good it feels to share stories with people we love.”
The festival includes an opening night reception, industry panels, Comedy Night, the Bushwick Crawl, and the annual BFF Awards Ceremony., while a Festival Hub will also serve as the gathering space for networking, panels and special events.
Festival passes are on sale, with new options like the Film Friend Friday Pass, My BFF Pass and Group Chat Bundle. Click here for a full lineup of films.
