The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, a 128-year-old nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives and building community through music, will host its tenth annual House Party fundraiser on Nov. 6, including two free stages outdoors.

Featuring over 30 musical acts, immersive experiences, and food and drink from local vendors, this year’s event, from 7:00pm to 11:00pm, will also honor ten years of Chad Cooper, the executive director of the conservatory.

"House Party was conceived to be a bit different than a traditional fundraiser,” Cooper said in a statement. “I felt strongly that whatever we did had to be really fun, and the best version of it was one where people were coming for the sake of the sheer joy of the event. Over time, it became an opportunity for us to really show our personality as an institution and tell our story through music and experiences, rather than speeches and slideshows."

While House Party is a ticketed event, two of the outdoor stages will be free and open to the public, featuring acts such as Red BaraatFemme Jam, and Slavic Soul Party. Those who secure a ticket will have access to indoor acts like Michael Daves, VJ Ralph McDaniels, and Melvis Santa.

The conservatory in October announced its expansion to One Prospect Park West, four blocks from its 7th Avenue headquarters. The 12,000 square-foot expansion site will double the number of New Yorkers reached and be the home to the new Music Therapy Institute, which has garnered support from Billy and Alexis Joel’s Joel Foundation.
