Two Trees Management announced a summer lineup of free public programming at Domino Park, bringing fitness classes, live performances, family activities and film screenings to the Williamsburg waterfront through September.
Programming will take place across Domino Square, Flex Field and other areas of the park, with returning events including Sunrise Yoga, the Summer Fitness Series, Salsa by the Water and Movies in the Square.
New additions this year include Intro to Capoeira classes, Longevity Stick mobility sessions and Summer Skate in the Square, a one-night roller skating event overlooking the East River.
“Domino Park has become a true gathering place and cultural hub for the Williamsburg community and beyond, and this summer’s lineup reflects that evolution,” said Michael Lampariello, director of Domino Park. “From fitness and family events to films, music and dance performances, the season builds on returning favorites while introducing new collaborations and experiences along the waterfront.”
The park’s wellness programming includes rotating fitness classes led by local studios, yoga sessions presented by Farm Rio and recreational activities such as croquet games on Flex Field. Organizers said several activities are designed for visitors of different ages and mobility levels.
Live music and performance programming will also return to Domino Square this summer. Events include Típico P’al Pueblo, celebrating Dominican musical traditions and Unheard at Domino Park, a jazz residency organized by Brooklyn-based creative incubator Pique-nique.
Other scheduled performances include Buck Wild Line Dancing, Sunset Sessions and a preview of “Don Juan” presented by Molière in the Park.
The outdoor performance series Sugar Sugar! returns in June for its second season, featuring dance, theater, puppetry, music and performance art in Domino Square’s waterfront amphitheater. Organized by Public Assembly, the series will run Wednesdays and Thursdays from June 3 through June 25.
Family programming will include Play in the Square workshops, horticulture and history tours, Meet the Beekeeper sessions and the annual Juneberry Festival. Additional community events include Craft Nights and Dominoes Socials with Capicu!.
Movies in the Square returns for six evenings beginning in July, with double-feature screenings against the Manhattan skyline. The full movie lineup is expected to be announced in June.
