Atlantic Terminal launched its Summer Series, bringing a season of free outdoor fitness classes, dance nights, family activities and community events to its plaza in Downtown Brooklyn through the end of August.
The series features recurring weekly and monthly programs, including strength training sessions led by Nike trainer Taina Manigat on Tuesday evenings through Aug. 25, salsa lessons and social dancing hosted by Nieves Latin Dance Studio on Thursday evenings through Aug. 27, and Friday morning kickboxing workouts with CKO Kickboxing through Aug. 28.
"The Summer Series reflects our ongoing commitment to creating dynamic, accessible programming that brings the community together," said Sunny Choi, head of leasing at Madison International Realty. "By partnering with respected local instructors, studios and small businesses, we are able to offer a diverse slate of free experiences that engage shoppers and neighbors alike throughout the season."
Families can also take part in Summer Saturdays with Brooklyn Bridge Parents on select Saturdays, featuring activities for children ages 12 and younger. Most events will take place on the Atlantic Terminal plaza and are free and open to the public.
The programming offers Brooklyn residents additional opportunities to stay active, connect with neighbors and support local businesses during the summer months. By bringing together fitness instructors, dance studios, family organizations and local vendors in a public space, the series aims to strengthen community connections while encouraging greater use of Downtown Brooklyn's outdoor gathering spaces.
A standout feature of the series is the Planted Culture Market, a monthly vegan night market held alongside Salsa Night on Aug. 6, Sept. 3 and Oct. 1. The market will feature more than 20 local vendors offering plant-based food, desserts and specialty products, pairing local shopping with live music and dancing.
The Summer Series will continue through the end of August, while the Planted Culture Market will run through Oct. 1. Events are free and open to the public, and the full schedule, updates and additional programming are available on Atlantic Terminal's website.
