The Brooklyn Nets has unveiled its limited edition Nike NBA 2021-22 City Edition uniforms, which blend various elements from previous fan-favorite uniform styles from throughout the years.
In celebration of the leagueâs 75th Anniversary Season, this yearâs Nike NBA City Edition collection showcases some of the teamsâ most iconic moments and incorporates different eras of the franchise, âcreating a modern look while paying homage to the totality of Nets history,â the team said in a press release.
The new uniform honors the Netsâ legacy from New York to New Jersey and back, highlighting a sequence of recognizable looks, from the stars and stripes design of the Dr. J era, to the redesigned 1990s wordmark revived with last seasonâs Nike NBA Classic Edition jerseys. It also includes the argyle side panel of the consecutive NBA Finals teams in 2002 and 2003, and is influenced by the herringbone styled court on the teamâs uniforms in 2012.
John Abbamondi, CEO of BSE Global â" parent company of the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center, said the looks of the teamâs past will âforever shape who we have become and we are proud to honor our history with this seasonâs City Edition collection.â
âLike many of todayâs Brooklynites, the Nets grew up in the suburbs and eventually transitioned to the big city in search of a bright future.â
The Nets will debut the uniforms in their match against the Atlanta Hawks at Barclays Center on Wednesday, Nov. 3, and the team will wear them for a total of 23 games this season.
The Netsâ Nike NBA City Edition jerseys and retail line will be available for purchase beginning Monday, Nov. 15 at netsstore.com and in-person at the Nets team store at Barclays Center, Brooklyn Fanatics, beginning at noon. For more information, please visit brooklynnets.com/cityedition.
