The Brooklyn Museum unveiled its February programming lineup, featuring an art history happy hour exploring the exhibition Solid Gold, a Valentine's Day art event with Black burlesque dancers and a Brooklyn Talks event honoring the legacy of Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm.
Additional offerings include classes, tours and special events designed to amplify the museum’s exhibitions, engage its surrounding community and promote learning through the visual arts, according to a press release.

Salsa Party

Free; registration encouraged. Admission is first come, first served.
Balmir Dance Society hosts an evening dedicated to salsa, featuring a professional dance class, live music, social dancing and performances from Brooklyn’s top Latin dance teams.
Studio Workshop: Solid Gold Foil
Saturday, Feb. 8, 11:00am – 4:30pm
Tickets: $225, includes museum admission.
Participants can tour the Solid Gold exhibition with curator Matthew Yokobosky before learning metalsmithing techniques such as burnishing and hammering at Brooklyn Metal Works with artist Erin Daily.
Drink and Draw: Valentine’s Day Burlesque
Friday, Feb. 14, 6:30pm – 9:30pm
Tickets: $35, includes after-hours admission, art materials and a complimentary drink.
Guests can enjoy a specialty cocktail while sketching models from Frolic: Black Burlesque Revue, hosted by Foxy Belle Afriq, in a celebration of art and love.
Stroller Tours: Toward Joy

Tickets: $32 per family (one adult, one child); additional adults $16.
A baby-friendly, interactive tour of Toward Joy designed for children up to 24 months, featuring touchable objects, songs and an opportunity for parents to connect.
Brooklyn Talks: Bisa Butler and Barbara Bullard

Visual artist Bisa Butler, whose portrait of Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm is featured in Toward Joy, joins Barbara Bullard, president of the Shirley Chisholm Cultural Institute, for a discussion on Chisholm’s enduring legacy.
Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra: Chevalier de Saint-Georges, Fauré, Sankey and Dvořák
Sunday, Feb. 23, 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Tickets: $15 for seniors and museum members, $20 for non-members in advance; $25 at the door. Free for ages 16 and under.
Guest conductor Nico Olarte-Hayes leads the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra in a performance featuring works spanning three centuries.
