Powerhouse Arts has announced the return of the Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair, set for Apr. 9–12, 2026 at its arts fabrication facility in Gowanus.
Now in its second year, the fair remains the borough’s only event dedicated exclusively to fine art printmaking, bringing together an international lineup of more than 50 print-focused galleries, self-represented artists and academic print departments.
The fair continues to position Brooklyn as a hub for contemporary print culture while creating opportunities for artists, collectors and educators to connect through exhibitions, sales and public programming. Building on the momentum of its inaugural edition, organizers aim to expand access to printmaking and strengthen community engagement around the medium.
“As an institution, we are committed everyday to the continued growth of the PHA print community. We see this fair as a convening of critical voices in the print world and as a way to elevate the medium at large for seasoned purveyors, emerging printmakers, collectors and enthusiasts alike. We acknowledge that in this competitive art market, all boats rise together,” said PHA Printshop Director Luther Davis.
New exhibitors joining the 2026 edition include 10 Grand Press from Brooklyn, Caira Art Editions from Cambridge, Mixit Print Studio from Somerville, Mullowney Printing Company from Portland and Petzel Gallery from New York City. Returning participants include Artist Image Resource from Pittsburgh, Aspinwall Editions from Hudson, D & S Fine Art Editions from France and Neon-Eye from Houston, alongside dozens of additional exhibitors representing a range of approaches to contemporary printmaking.
This year’s fair also broadens its academic component, expanding beyond New York City to include institutions from across the country. New participants include the Maryland Institute College of Art, Tyler School of Art & Architecture at Temple University and the University of Utah. Returning New York-based institutions include The New School at Parsons and Hunter College’s Corner Press, while the Fashion Institute of Technology joins the fair for the first time.
Public programming will play a central role throughout the four-day event, with daily talks, live demonstrations, film screenings, guided booth tours and printshop tours designed to deepen public understanding of printmaking processes and history. Dedicated spaces for community partners will further encourage collaboration and dialogue among artists, educators and visitors.
The 2026 edition will coincide with a juried exhibition presented by MGC Community Print Studio, one of Powerhouse Arts’ cornerstone print facilities. Hosted in the Small Hall, the exhibition will highlight contemporary print works selected through an open call, underscoring the fair’s focus on accessibility and curatorial rigor. The exhibition also marks a milestone year for the print studio as it celebrates its 40th anniversary.
Powerhouse Arts houses three major printmaking facilities, including the Powerhouse Arts Printshop, Digital Print Lab and MGC Community Print Studio. Through the Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair and year-round programming, the organization continues to strengthen Brooklyn’s role as a center for artistic production, education and collaboration within the global printmaking community.
