The Atlantic Antic Street Fair returns to Atlantic Ave. on Sept. 27, bringing food, music, shopping and family programming to a 10-block stretch between Hicks Street and Fourth Avenue. The 51st annual festival is scheduled for noon to 6:00pm, rain or shine, with free admission.
Families with children will find three dedicated areas and performances throughout the afternoon.
Playtopia by Brooklyn Bridge Parents will run from noon to 4:00pm at Boerum Place, offering free activities including manga art with the Brooklyn Museum, LEGO building, arts and crafts and a cardboard maze. Prospect Schools is sponsoring the program.
The Kids Zone, also at Boerum Pl., will remain open until 6 p.m. and feature ticketed attractions including bounce houses, pony rides and face painting.
Free entertainment will continue elsewhere along the avenue. Bindlestiff Family Cirkus will present shows at 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm, between Henry and Court streets, giving families several opportunities to see the performers.
At Nevins St., Kids Rock for Kids will feature young musicians throughout the afternoon in a program presented by The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The festival also includes music and activities for visitors beyond the children's programming. Middle Eastern musicians will perform at the Clinton Street Stage, while the Community Stage between Third and Fourth avenues will host the Antic Sing competition, featuring songs from the 1970s through the 2000s.
Vendors, restaurants and shops will line the route.
Families can reach the festival by subway, bus, LIRR, ferry, bicycle or car. Nearby subway options include Hoyt Street, Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center, while Atlantic Terminal provides LIRR access.
