Amy Schumer is going on a nationwide tour and she just announced a stop at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre on Wednesday, November 21.
Comedian, actress, writer, producer and director, Schumer has become a Jane of all entertainment trades, it appears. She first gained notoriety in 2013 with Inside Amy Schumer, which garnered accolades and awards including the prestigious Peabody Award in 2014 and the first-ever Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Sketch Variety Series.
In 2015, Schumer took it to the big screen and starred in Trainwreck, which dominated the box offices worldwide and earned her the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy. She followed with the 2017 hit comedy Snatched, starring alongside Goldie Hawn; the Jason Hall drama Thank You For Your Service and the 2018 comedy I Feel Pretty, which she co-produced.
The only female comic to headline Madison Square Garden, Schumer will certainly put on a show at the Kings Theatre. Taking a page out of Dave Chappelle’s playbook, the fun will also come with a strict no-phone policy.
Upon arrival, all phones and smartwatches will be secured in Yondr pouches that will be unlocked at the end of the show. Guests will keep their phones throughout the night, and if needed, may access them at designated Yondr unlocking stations. Anyone caught with a cellphone in the venue will be immediately ejected.
For Brooklynite’s who can’t wait until November: Schumer’s latest one-hour comedy special titled “The Leather Special” is currently streaming on Netflix.
Tickets for Amy Schumer at Kings Theatre will go on sale Friday, October 19 at 10:00am. For more information and to purchase tickets, go here.
