The Bed Stuy Gateway Business Improvement District (BID) will hold its 3rd annual tree lighting ceremony on Wednesday, December 2, at 6:00pm in the West Plaza of Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation.
The FREE celebration will include live performances by the Grammy-Award Winning Jeff Redd who celebrates over 27 years of music and entertainment as well as the Hanifah Youth Choir of Bridge Street AME Church. The Antioch Baptist Church Adult Choir which just released their first single, titled “The Blood” will minister in praise and worship.
The entertainment will continue with additional performances by the Youth Arts Academy of the Center for Arts and Culture at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation and the legendary DJ, Hard-Hitting Harry (Haitian All StarZ).
The annual event will include special holiday treats, free giveaways (while supplies last) and photographs with Santa Claus.
“The ceremony is a way for us to say thank you to our community for making Bed-Stuy one of the greatest communities in the world to live, work, shop, and play. We are also becoming a mecca for arts, culture and tourism and we want to celebrate that as well, “stated Michael Lambert, Executive Director for the Bed-Stuy Gateway BID.
