Beginning September 16, through October 16, Citi Bikes will be getting a mini makeover in lieu of a new partnership that aims to bring recognition to three local New York charities: The American Red Cross, Share Our Strength and YMCA.

The campaign is entitled, “Citi Bike for Good,” and it is a month-long initiative to raise up to $50,000 for each of the three charities by deploying branded bikes across the boroughs of Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn whereby any Citi Bike ride on a specially branded bicycle or a traditional Citi Bike bicycle will be counted toward the program’s goal of surpassing 1 million rides–a milestone achieved in 2014 during the same period.

The program is nearly a third of the way there, crossing the 300,000 ride mark in just one week!
