The sounds of Central Brooklyn just went global!

And when I say “sounds,” that includes more than the ubiquitous Biggie, Kane, Rakim or Jay-Z. These sounds encompass the music of everything and everyone that make up the borough, including soca, salsa, kompas, bachata, Afrobeat, R&B and, of course, house music for the die-hard heads.

It’s a global genre that represents a global demographic, broadcasted across the Atlantic Ocean, thanks to Bed-Stuy resident DJ Hard Hittin’ Harry.

DJ Hard Hittin’ Harry has been entertaining on the turntables for more than three decades, starting as the official DJ for the Fugees. Today, he’s known to be able to get a crowd moving to practically any sound– rocking out at Jamaican jam sessions, political parties, block parties, house parties, hip hop concerts, anything, you name it.

“That’s what it’s about– playing a little bit of everything,” said Harry, “I like to take people on a journey, and as a DJ, it’s very important for me to see people happy.”

And the world has taken notice.

Harry started the Global Jam Session six years ago out of a studio in New Jersey called Axiom Online. When the studio shut down, Harry brought the show back to his home in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. After a brief hiatus, he relaunched the show in February 2015, and within two weeks, igrooveradio, invited him on board.

“And I was like, ‘No doubt, because that was always my vision to take the show global,'” said Harry. “That’s really special to me because, eventually, I hope to touch people in Japan, Australia, Europe, the Netherlands…”

The Global Jam Session midday dance mix airs every Thursday live, now at 12:00noon – 2:00pm on soulfulvibe.,com  and twice on igrooveradio 12:00noon and 12:00 midnight in Lagos, which is 7:00am EST; and midnight, which is 7:00pm EST. His 12:00noon midday dance show is mostly a house music, dance mix show.
