Beginning this Saturday, February 7, Brooklyn’s favorite kids film festival returns for the 17th year with the best shorts and features from around the globe.

This year’s fun-tastic weekend features curated selections from the top children’s film festivals in North America—74 films in total, representing 30 countries, including an Oscar nominated animation short.

Be sure to stop by the BAMkids lounge at BAMcafé after your film for animation activities, magic shows, face-painting, balloon-making, lunch and more! But hurry and purchase your ticket now, as they selling out fast!

GENERAL ADMISSION: $14
CINEMA CLUB MEMBERS: $9 (Movie Moguls free)
$10 for children (13 & under) and seniors

The world is full of magic in the most surprising places. Discover a seashell that can shrink buildings and pick up boats, a ring that tells you the truth about anything you see, a comb that will make your hair grow like wild vines, and a toy car who remembers its favorite owner.

Note for parents: A small water pistol is shown in Moritz and a very brief glimpse of a bare bottom appears in Kalle Kran.

Take a ride on a train, zoom around the grocery store on a shopping cart, escape a giant dog, and jump into a whole ocean of lemonade in these fantastic journeys from the outlandish to the heartwarming.

Note for parents: In Little Matryoshka, chess pieces engage in a sword fight, without injury, and the combatants become friends and work together in the end.

Meet a girl who slips into a new dimension, a boy whose mind plays tricks on him, two friends who escape to an imaginary beach, a child determined to trap a sunbeam, and a boy who simply can’t sit still.

Note for parents: Inside Oneself has scary moments, but also a bright, happy ending. Balloonsdepicts a girl’s buoyant response to an instance of bullying.
