National Night Out Against Crime

National Night Out Against Crime

Want to get to know your local police and get involved in keeping crime down in your neighborhood?  There’s no better way then participating in tonight’s 31st Annual National Night Out Against Crime.

The event was created in 1984 in an effort to promote involvement  in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and to send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Over the years in Brooklyn, The National Night Out Against Crime often includes free food, activities and rides for kids and informational vendors. The local schedule for today’s events are:

The 79th Police Precinct National Night Out Against Crime will take place in Von King Park, 670 Lafayette Avenue between 3-8 pm.

The 81st Police Precinct National Night Out Against Crime will take place in the Fulton Park Houses Plaza, Malcom X Blvd & Fulton Street from 4-8 pm.

The 71st Police Precinct National Night Out Against Crime will take place on Lincoln Road between Flatbush & Bedford Avenues from 4-8 pm.

The 77th Police Precinct National Night Out Against Crime will take place at Brower Park on Park Place between Kingston & Brooklyn Avenues from 11 am to 8 pm.
