Join Restoration on Sunday for a FREE performance of the world renowned Ronald K Brown EVIDENCE Dance Company of Bed-Stuy. They will perform classic and new work by Ronald K Brown along with a student showing of the EVIDENCE repertory performed by students of their 9th Annual Dance Workshop Series held at the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Youth Arts Academy. The performance will be held in the plaza on Sunday, August 31, at 2:00pm, followed by a dance party DJed by Ronald K Brown.

About Ronald K. Brown
evidence1-byJulietaCervantes340Brown founded Evidence, A Dance Company 1985. He has worked with Mary Anthony Dance Theater and Jennifer Muller/The Works. Brown has set works on Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ailey II, Cleo Parker Robinson Ensemble, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Jennifer Muller/The Works, Philadanco, and Muntu Dance Theater of Chicago and Ballet Hispanico.

He choreographed Regina Taylor’s award-winning play, Crowns and won an AUDELCO Award for his work on that production. Brown has received two Black Theater Alliance Awards and a Fred and Adele Astaire Award for Outstanding Choreography on Broadway for the Tony Award Winning The Gershwin’s’ Porgy and Bess.

Brown has received; John Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, National Endowment for the Arts Choreographers Fellowship, New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, United States Artists Rose Fellow and The Ailey Apex Award for teaching. Brown is a member of Stage Directors & Choreographers Society.
